Research Institute of Impulse Processes with Pilot plant is a part of the Powder Metallurgy Institute NAS of Belarus and specializes on fulfillment of R&D in the field of applying an explosion for economic usage. Now Research Institute of Impulse Processes is a scientific production complex with a developed infrastructure, consisting of three main research laboratories and a pilot plant based on a testing area. Explosion works are carried out on open explosion grounds and in high-capacity chambers, equipped with constructions and structures, rooms to prepare charges, depositories for explosives. The pilot plant enables to make serial production of science intensive products, developed by scientists and engineers of the Institute.

In the Institute high qualified experts, Doctors and Candidates of Science work. They make scientific investigations, directed on development of new techniques, on making new types of composites and products, on modernization of new techniques of welding, forming, consolidation and strengthening by dynamic methods. All this ensures high quality of products and enables to satisfy requirements of the very exacting consumers..

The Institute keeps tight research relations with more than 20 R&D organizations and agencies abroad. The existing experimental base of the Institute, availability of unique investigation equipment and infrastructure of the pilot ground ensure carrying out the scientific developments on a modern level and making new materials by methods of high temperature, high rate treatment.
